Conditions explained
We sell new and used devices. New ones are sold as new. Used ones are graded by what you can see at 30 cm — a distance you can check yourself when the box arrives. No adjectives, no "gently used".
New
| New · sealed | Factory sealed. Not opened, not inspected by us; firmware as shipped by the manufacturer. Photographed in its packaging. |
| New · open-box | The box has been opened; the device is unused. Listed with photographs of the actual contents. |
Used
| Like New | No visible marks at any distance. Screen unmarked. |
| Excellent | Very faint marks visible only closer than 30 cm. Nothing at arm's length. |
| Very Good | Light marks visible beyond 30 cm. Every Very Good unit is photographed individually, so you see the marks before you buy. |
We don't stock anything below Very Good.
What a condition does and doesn't tell you
- It describes the outside only. Every used device has at least 90% battery health, and function is covered by the check list.
- Like New and Excellent units from the same batch may share photographs — the listing says Photo: batch when they do. Very Good and open-box units always show Photo: this unit.
- If a unit has anything the grade wouldn't lead you to expect — a mark in an unusual place, a missing accessory — it's written on the listing and photographed.
Why 30 cm?
It's the distance used by refurbed, one of Europe's largest refurbished-electronics platforms, in its published grade definitions, and it's close to how you'd naturally look at a phone in your hand. Other retailers use 20 cm and 50 cm, or "arm's length". We chose one number so you only have to remember one.
